Niagara Falls -- No Barrels Allowed!

We passed through Niagara Falls this morning and enjoyed the power of the water crashing down to the rocks below. Thought you might enjoy a short segment as well. The sound may be light, but the scenary is spectacular! On to the hills.

A quick postscript for Friday's travels. After enjoying time at Niagara Falls, we rode south to Olean, New York. Most of the day was spent climbing gradual hills -- nothing too steep until the last part of the ride. But much to our delight, following the most difficult climb of the day came a six mile down stretch that had us flying. For the better part of a mile, we rode at speeds (again with all due consideration for safety) of approx. 40 mph. This evening, we met Pastor Mark Chamberlain, his wife Christine, and their two children, Noel Grace and Levi who prepared a great dinner for us and arranged for a place to stay. Thanks for your hospitality! We enjoyed having a chance to hear about your church, this area (the northern-most part of Appalachia) and a bit about your family and appreciate your opening your home to strangers. Noel/Levi: keep up the good work with your studies and other activities; Mark: we'll be praying for your new church facility/location.

Dear Mr. Grandy,
I hope you are doing well. It sounds like you are having an excellent trip (except for getting the bugs in your mouth like you mentioned in a previous blog). I have been praying for you. I can't wait to see you when you get back.

In Christ's name,
Sarah Nakata

Howdy Charlie and Matt,
I can see on your faces that you can feel God working through you and giving you strength during this journey. What a great insipriation to us grown-up as well as all of the students. I keep thinking of Dori in Finding Nemo..."Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming!"
God bless you, brothers!

Go Charlie Go! Thanks for the inspiring words--we LOVE reading your blog. You're a great example of faith to all of us and Matt is a great example of a faithful friend. You may have a career as a writer when this is finished. We're praying for you!

About Me

Ride Across America: A Journey of Faith Beginning on September 14, 2008 TPCA Parent and Board Member Charlie Grandy will Ride Across America, trekking from Quebec City to Miami - an overall distance of 2,235 miles in just 20 days! This Journey of Faith is Charlie following God's call to raise awareness and support of the mission of Traders Point Christian Academy. This will also serve to encourage students, families and participants to have fun, deepen their faith and develop a greater sense of community by serving together with a common purpose, as well as develop a habit-forming healthy lifestyle for our students, families and surrounding community. Ride Across America culminates on Friday October 3, when Charlie arrives in Miami and joins TPCA via a web-cast and we celebrate this incredible Journey of Faith. The students will then hold the 2nd Annual TPCA Walk/Bike-A-Thon on the school campus as their way to showcase the student body's focus on physical activity and spiritual growth. http://www.tpcs.org/rideacrossamerica.asp
